Egyptian naval power continues to modernize with the jewel of the fleet being a pair of helicopter carriers of French design. Coupled to this are modern fighting frigates and corvettes to strengthen surface combat capabilities. The mine warfare fleet remains strong and landing craft are available in number. Fleet focus is placed squarely on support vessels and watercraft while the force as a whole numbers nearly 150 total vessels.
